Its such a beautiful day today! This bird is something of a cross between a blackbird and a magpie. Blackpie? Magbird? Whatever its name is its taking a break before joining its friends for a glide. Drawn for a friend who helped me out with proofreading 🙂
I can’t believe this blog has passed the 50 follower mark! I’m really grateful to be able to share my drawings with so many people, thanks guys 🙂
A wise quote from Austin Kleon’s book “Steal Like An Artist”. This drawing was so much fun! But I couldn’t decide which side I liked better, so heres both!
Even at the end of a long day dogs are still up for play time, so why do people say they’re “dog tired”. I’d love to have as much energy as a dog, I’m “student tired”! The plastic page markers on this drawing are from my pages of dissertation notes, no longer needed because its DONE 😀
And work your way out.
A fish drawn while listening to Ani DiFranco’s “Work Your Way Out” There’s no direct link to the lyrics, just some of those beautiful deep chords made me want to draw something in water.
Also, correction fluid is the best paint ever!
The magpie gets a pretty bad image in western culture, but in China it’s name means “bird of joy”.
A year today since I began this blog! Happy blog-aversary!
